Associated Seafoods scoops Grampian Food Forum Innovation Award

Associated Seafoods Ltd (ASL) has scooped a Grampian Food Forum Innovation Award in recognition of the strong retail sales performance of its potted crab range.

An award winner last year with its White Crab Meat Pot and White & Brown Crab Meat Pot, these same two products won the ‘Most Successful Product from the 2014 Awards’ category at last night’s (19 March) Grampian Food Forum Innovation Awards 2015 held at the Ardoe House Hotel and Spa, Aberdeen.
The judges said: “The crab pots are a delicious and healthy snack for all occasions. Served with crusty bread and salad they make the perfect starter. The dressed crab is a real dinner party treat, serve as an indulgent starter or a great accompaniment to a summer BBQ.

“The winning product showed good sales within its first year, leading to new business opportunities and was a springboard to introducing further new products to their customer.”

ASL was also a finalist last night in the ‘Investing in Skills Development’ category in recognition of its English language training programme for staff for whom English is not their first language. The training is open to all staff and aids both the business and the personal development of employees.

Henry Angus, commercial director at ASL, said: “We are delighted to have won this award, which recognises the huge efforts put in by all our staff in ensuring the development of premium seafood products that are much sought after by consumers,” he said.
