Prestigious BRC certification for Associated Seafoods

Associated Seafoods Ltd (ASL) has for the second year in a row secured prestigious BRC ‘A’ Grade certification for its Buckie-based seafood processing facility.

Attaining the world renowned British Retail Consortium certification provides independent confirmation of the rigorous food safety and supply chain management programmes in place at ASL’s processing facility, which was recently upgraded and modernised in a multi-million pound development programme.
Victor West, managing director of ASL said: “We are delighted at retaining the BRC ‘A’ Grade certification, which underlines our rigorous management programmes and the superb efforts of our employees. Our strategy for growth is focused on the provision of high quality ready-to-eat Scottish smoked salmon and shellfish products for the retail sector, and such certification is an essential part of this process.”
In 2013, a major modernisation programme by ASL resulted in the creation a state-of-the-art seafood production facility in Buckie that is now enabling the company to broaden its portfolio of Scottish smoked salmon and shellfish products.

Supplying both the retail and foodservice sectors, ASL has in recent months secured new customers in the USA, Switzerland, the Far East and Australia, resulting in a significant uplift in sales of Scottish smoked salmon and crab sold under the Pride of Scotland brand.
