Tammy is ‘Highly Commended’ at Highlands & Islands Food & Drink Awards

Tammy Rendall, a 20-year-old technical manager at Associated Seafoods Ltd (ASL) in Buckie, was ‘Highly Commended ‘in the ‘Young Shining Star’ category at the Highlands & Islands Food & Drink Awards 2014 held on Friday 24 October at the Kingsmill Hotel in Inverness.

The Award category recognises a young person’s outstanding contribution and achievement in the Highlands & Islands food and drink sector. Tammy, who joined Associated Seafoods (ASL) in July 2013, is the technical manager in the crab processing department and impressed the judges by the way she undertakes a wide range of responsibilities, including putting the procedures in place to ensure the new state-of-the-art crab facility became successfully operational.

Whilst just missing out on winning top spot, a nonetheless pleased Tammy said: “I was delighted to be put forward for the award and being ‘Highly Commended’ was a great experience. I very much enjoy the work I do and to be recognised in such a way is great. I have to thank my family, friends and the team at ASL for supporting me.”
